Energy Use

All the energy use in the Green Homes is electrical, partly because gas is not renewable and partly because it is a way of making the housing carbon neutral.

The design maximises the use of natural light, and the use of A rated appliances ie fridge, washing machine and dishwasher in your homes will minimise consumption. Hotwater is pre-heated through solar panels, and topped up to the required temperature in an immersion tank.

Communal electricity is derived from solar photovoltaic panels on the apartment roofs.
