Prize Draw for Green Homes Launch

Visitors to the Green Homes Open Day on Saturday 1 November from 12pm to 5 pm at the new development at Park Grange road could find themselves with 2 swimming passes for the Ponds Forge Pool.

That's one of the prizes to be won in the raffle sponsored by local businesses for the launch. Others include Cinema Tickets at the Showcase Cinema and eco-friendly cleaning products from Ecover.

The new homes for sale at a discount from current market prices to local people are built to the Environment Trust's Green Homes specification and will have fuel bills lower than £200 per year. They feature environment friendly materials, an apple orchard, vegetable plots for apartment owners, a car pool and solar electricity, water heating and a host of environment friendly features.

The houses recently described as the best ever built in Sheffield - are being sold for £80k, £102k and £140k - up to 15% less than market price. Some are already sold.

All in all, the partners - The Environment Trust, Sheffield City Council and Transform South Yorkshire are hoping that the sun will be shining on the Norfolk Park Green Homes on Saturday 1 November 2008
